EA heeft op het forum van EA laten weten dat binnen afzienbare tijd v1.21 van BF2 gereleased wordt.
Na aanvolging van de bugs die EA met de 1.2 patch introduceerde zal EA trachten deze op te lossen met de nieuwe 1.21 patch.
While patch 1.2 included several fixes that we know were eagerly awaited, it unfortunately introduced some new issues. These issues are being addressed immediately and we are working around the clock on Patch 1.21. It will be tested in a limited beta with some of the Battlefield Community Clans starting at the end of the week to ensure that the ensuing public release is totally clean.
In addition, we have decided to postpone the Euro Force Booster Pack until after the release of patch 1.21, since we want to make sure that your experience playing Battlefield 2 is the best possible before releasing the Booster Pack. We will update you as soon as we have more information to share.
On a more pleasant note, Battlefield hit somewhat of a milestone last night with over 52,000 players playing online at one time. This is the highest number of players ever in Battlefield 2 at one time and almost 4 times more than the peak number of players in Battlefield 1942.

yeah so wat! ik weet ut zker dat er wel WEER problemen zullen zijn met de nieuwe patch. tis altijd zo en zal altijd zo zijn. mensen denke gelijk bij een nieuwe patch zo van: o yes!! heel veel nieuwe dingen joepie!! en dan heb je em dan denk je van WAT EEN STRONT PATCH NET ALS DIE ANDERE! iedereen dacht tog zo bij patch 1.2?? nou dat zal ook bij patch 1.21 zijn! |

Het hele punt van het patchen is om bugs uit het spel te halen..
Dit heeft EA nu niet bepaald gedaan met de 1.2 patch, vandaar de 1.21 patch..
een patch bevat niet per definitie ook niewue features edje.. |

ik kom @#!$$! sinds donderdag nie meer in/op de accountserver... ik heb nu al 2x telefonisch contact gehad met de "olijke popkes"van de EA help desk en elke keer 't zelfde gezever... "de patch komt eraan, het ligt cht aan de huidige patch".
Lekker is dat, eerst maken ze je een bf2 addict  en dan trekken ze de stekker eruit |

Jongens, kom op zeg.
Om tegenwoordig een spel uit te brengen op een niveau als BF, vergt dit ontzettend veel manuren, geld, capaciteit en het moet altijd gisteren af zijn. DICE probeert echt wel een goed product af te leveren, maar hebben wel met de bovenstaande factoren te maken. Daarnaast geven ze (lees programming-people) zelf toe dat ze zelf niet het spelniveau bezitten, zoals de game-diehards die hoog in de scoreladder staan. Zij zijn daarom afhankelijk van spelers in hun geselecteerde BF-community (Waarin jij blijkbaar ook zou moeten zitten. Geef je op zou ik zeggen) om hun producten te testen in live-omgevingen. Als die geen goede feedback geven over functionaliteit en bugs, zal je altijd met dit soort issues te maken hebben.
DICE heeft een bepaald spelidee voor ogen dat voor een ieder speelbaar moet zijn, zowel voor noobs als ook voor game-diehards. (Ook omdat een spel voor enkel spelfanaten en realiteitsfreaks een te kleine markt is om zo'n spel redabel te kunnen produceren). Ook willen zij een evenwicht bereiken tussen spel en realiteit. Hoewel dit op de tekentafel voor een groot gedeelte afgevangen kan worden, zal het in een live-environment moeten blijken of dit inderdaad goed uitpakt. Als bijvoorbeeld blijkt dat een Apache (net als in het echt) redelijk onoverwinnelijk is (hij wordt gemaakt om te overleven en zo'n groot mogelijke klappen uit te delen), is dit natuurlijk niet bevordelijk voor het spelplezier. Dit zal dus worden aangepast in patches. Als je in dit geval dus goed was in het vliegen met een chopper, wordt je dus benadeeld. Daar staat tegenover dat er weel heel veel mensen tevreden zijn met deze aanpassing (het is maar een voorbeeld).
Het is daarom positief dat een bedrijf als DICE (met EA als uitgever) zo lang na het releasen van hun product nog ondersteuning geeft, en bezig is hun product uit te breiden en te verbeteren. Nogmaals, dit gaat een bedrijf niet in hun koude (financiele) kleren zitten. Blijkbaar zitten er dus daar mensen die het beste met hun product voor hebben, terwijl ze constant op hun huid worden gezeten door gasten zoals jij.
Wat betreft verloren connecties. Ja, deze dingen kunnen gebeuren, hoewel ik het zelden ben tegengekomen; onderhoud of storingen aan de accountserver(s). Het is een complexe omgeving, dat ook andere spellen moet ondersteunen. OK, je hebt dan even een uurtje geen verbinding, maar het wordt altijd wel snel hersteld. Wellicht heb je dan wat tijd om wat aan je sociale kant te werken, zoals je taalgebruik bijvoorbeeld.
Verder ben ik zelf een zeer tevreden gebruiker van BF2 en SF, en beleef er nog steeds veel spelplezier aan. Nooit echt problemen gehad, en ja, tevreden met de patches tot nu toe. Ben verder niet een semi-prof gamer zoals jij, maar een gelukkige middenmoot speler. |

Ik ben blij dat ze de tijd nemen om de nieuwe bugs weg te werken, en hopelijk ook wat oude. Dat Euro Force uitgesteld wordt kan me dan even niks schelen. Hopen dat ze ook wat doen aan het ongebalanceerde spel zoals het nu is... maar die kans lijkt toch klein. |

Ja dat geluid zuigt aan alle kanten, als je ff niet oplet dan ben je al 2x geraakt en je hoort geen reet. en wat de lag betreft das helemaal triest ik hoop dat ze dat ff snel fixen anders word bf2 een stuk minder om te spelen. |

Veel mensen hopen dat dit een constructief forum is en blijft. Dus alleen zeggen dat EA (of DICE) zich blijkbaar overal aan vast loopt te zuigen draagt niet erg veel bij aan het niveau. Waar het om gaat is dat je ook een onderbouwing geeft. WAAROM DUS!!!!
Als je technische problemen ondervindt lijkt het dus zinvoller als je aangeeft wat die zijn, en waar jij denkt waaraan die kunnen liggen; accountservers, gameservers, bandbreedte, BF applicatie, OS, conflicten met services die je lokaal draait, etc. Blijkbaar hebben de meeste gebruikers geen enkel probleem met het spelen van het spel, maar ondervinden enkele die echter wel. Ga op zoek naar variabelen die een conflict opleveren zou ik dus zeggen. Als je dat aangeeft, kan er ook actie worden ondernomen. En als blijkt dat deze bug inderdaad direct gerelateerd is aan de BF applicatie kan een oplossing hiervoor worden meegenomen via een patch. Natuurlijk blijft de mogelijkheid bestaan dat een oplossing voor het ene, een probleem voor het andere met zich mee kan brengen (Niet ongebruikelijk in applicatiewereld). Dit zelfde geldt ook voor zaken betreffende spelsituaties enzo.
Heb je problemen met de distributie (tijdsplanning, verkoopkanalen, etc.), dan kan je dat natuurlijk ook onderbouwd weergeven. Voor de duidelijkheid: Dit is dus iets anders dan het technisch inhoudelijke van een patch.
EA/DICE leest en houdt ook forums bij. Zij zijn zeker ontvankelijk voor kritiek (of lof), maar deze moet wel onderbouwd zijn. Hun broodwinning is er van afhankelijk. Simpel klagen en schreeuwen helpt nooit, en wordt door hun ook gewoon genegeerd. |

Bugs oke... Patches oke... maar een miljoenenbedrijf maybe wel miljarden dat een patch maakt dat meer problemen maakt dan dat daarvoor waren. Kom op zg blunders maken doet iedereen maar dit gaat even te ver vindt ik. In EA en Dice lopen toch echt wel wat hoogopgeleide mensen rond en de feedback hoeft niet zo grote rol te spellen dat ze zelf niet eens kunnen testen op servers of de patch goed draait. Ze lopen de kantjes ervan af. En dan kan je wel zeggen dat de community hier een grote rol inspeelt... maar ik denk dat iedereen wel kan merken wanneer een server crasht. En anders moeten ze gwn de patch niet op de markt zetten. En ik heb ook genoeg problemen gehad met bf2... door de 1.12 patch hadden ze mijn cdkey verneukt en moest ik heel wat forums af gaan voordat ik het handmatig op kon lossen. Maar weet wel de klant is altijd de baas, en als ea/dice nog meer van deze kunstjes uithaald zullen ze dat niet alleen op forums merken. |

mensen zeiken... als je het een kk spel vind verkoop je het tog lekker op de rommelmarkt en dan ga je toch lekker tibia of runescape spelen wat boem saai is. niet zo zeuren en gamen .
voor de mensen die het klote vinden:
zet jij is een bedrijf op en maak een spel dat in 1 x goed is : daar heb je uren/dagen/maanden en jaren voor nodig. denk je nou echt dat ze dat doen ? NEE want dan is de technologie alweer vooruit gegaan en dan zitten we al vitueel met brilletjes te gamen.

Helemaal mee eens!!! DICE RULES
Ik ben zelf IT-er en software ontwikkeling is een nauwkeurig werkje!!!! en ja soms zitten er bugs in helemaal als men onder druk staat
dan gaat de kwaliteit naar beneden!!!
Dus niet zeiken, ik speelde ooit Joint Ops, nou je mocht blij zijn als er eens een patch uit kwam.

Bij het maken en onderhouden van een spel als BF2 (en alle up-to-date grafische/technologische hoogstandjes), komt een aantal keuzes om de hoek kijken, die allemaal een voor- en een nadeel hebben:
- Stel je blijft je spel net zolang ontwikkelen totdat het 100% goed is. Perfect spel, maar helaas voor jou: de technologie heeft je ingehaald: niemand die je ouderwets uitziende spel nog wil spelen.
- Stel je brengt het spel na een behoorlijke ontwikkeling op de markt. Je zorgt er daarna voor dat je regelmatig bezig blijft met het updaten en perfectioneren van de game. Helaas: er is een groep mensen die vindt dat je teveel patches uitgeeft en het dus niet goed geprogrammeerd is ("Kunnen ze nou niet eens alles goed doen in de patch...nu zitten er alweer (nieuwe) fouten in").
- Stel je brengt het spel na een behoorlijke ontwikkeling op de markt. Je zorgt er daarna voor dat je een jaar bezig gaat met de patch: net zolang totdat deze 100% goed is. Helaas: er is een groep mensen die vindt dat ze te lang moeten wachten totdat hun bugs worden opgelost ("Ik heb al lang aangegeven dat dit en dit fout gaat: waarom is er nog geen patch?" en "Ja zeg, ze hebben gezegd dat de patch vandaag zou uitkomen en nou stellen ze hem uit...").
Moraal van mijn verhaal: welke keuze ze ook maken, ze kunnen niet iedereen tevreden stellen. Wees blij DAT er aan updates wordt gewerkt en DAT er wordt geluisterd naar de community. |

een spel hoeft niet up to date te zijn met de "standaard" de gameplay moet perfect zijn anders wordt cs ook nooit meer gespeeld ofwel? ik heb liever goede gameplay dan al dat geke*ker van patches wat je erbij krijgt. |

DICE probeert echt wel een goed product af te leveren, maar hebben wel met de bovenstaande factoren te maken. Daarnaast geven ze (lees programming-people) zelf toe dat ze zelf niet het spelniveau bezitten, zoals de game-diehards die hoog in de scoreladder staan. Zij zijn daarom afhankelijk van spelers in hun geselecteerde BF-community (Waarin jij blijkbaar ook zou moeten zitten. Geef je op zou ik zeggen) om hun producten te testen in live-omgevingen. Als die geen goede feedback geven over functionaliteit en bugs, zal je altijd met dit soort issues te maken hebben.
DICE heeft een bepaald spelidee voor ogen dat voor een ieder speelbaar moet zijn, zowel voor noobs als ook voor game-diehards. (Ook omdat een spel voor enkel spelfanaten en realiteitsfreaks een te kleine markt is om zo'n spel redabel te kunnen produceren). Ook willen zij een evenwicht bereiken tussen spel en realiteit. Hoewel dit op de tekentafel voor een groot gedeelte afgevangen kan worden, zal het in een live-environment moeten blijken of dit inderdaad goed uitpakt. Als bijvoorbeeld blijkt dat een Apache (net als in het echt) redelijk onoverwinnelijk is (hij wordt gemaakt om te overleven en zo'n groot mogelijke klappen uit te delen), is dit natuurlijk niet bevordelijk voor het spelplezier. Dit zal dus worden aangepast in patches. Als je in dit geval dus goed was in het vliegen met een chopper, wordt je dus benadeeld. Daar staat tegenover dat er weel heel veel mensen tevreden zijn met deze aanpassing (het is maar een voorbeeld).
Het is daarom positief dat een bedrijf als DICE (met EA als uitgever) zo lang na het releasen van hun product nog ondersteuning geeft, en bezig is hun product uit te breiden en te verbeteren. Nogmaals, dit gaat een bedrijf niet in hun koude (financiele) kleren zitten. Blijkbaar zitten er dus daar mensen die het beste met hun product voor hebben, terwijl ze constant op hun huid worden gezeten door gasten zoals jij.
Wat betreft verloren connecties. Ja, deze dingen kunnen gebeuren, hoewel ik het zelden ben tegengekomen; onderhoud of storingen aan de accountserver(s). Het is een complexe omgeving, dat ook andere spellen moet ondersteunen. OK, je hebt dan even een uurtje geen verbinding, maar het wordt altijd wel snel hersteld. Wellicht heb je dan wat tijd om wat aan je sociale kant te werken, zoals je taalgebruik bijvoorbeeld.
Verder ben ik zelf een zeer tevreden gebruiker van BF2 en SF, en beleef er nog steeds veel spelplezier aan. Nooit echt problemen gehad, en ja, tevreden met de patches tot nu toe. Ben verder niet een semi-prof gamer zoals jij, maar een gelukkige middenmoot speler. |

Ga lekker EA de hemel inprijzen, je mag tich wel negatief commentaar leveren? Ik heb 80 voor battlefield(SF) betaald, dat zijn 176 guldens en daar verwacht ik kwaliteit voor.
En foutjes maken is menselijk, maar voor een bedrijf als EA mag je beter verwachten.
Weet je wat voor salaris die ontwikkelaars hebben?? ik moet het met minder doen en mag ook geen fouten maken op mijn werk.
Als het spel nou 5 kost zeur ik niet dan mag het, maar 80 moet kwaliteit zijn.
Verder blijf ik het wel met plezier spelen hoor, heb nog wel een beetje vertouwen in EA |

Er zitten veel te veel fouten in BF2 en de uitbreidingen van BF2
Ik vind dat EA supergoede spellen maakt maar met BF2 zijn ze toch echt de fout ingegaan.
Het spel is best ok, maar er zijn geen missies als je singleplayer doet, het is gewoon een beetje raggen en online was het al best laggerig en nu dankzij die flut uitbreidingen waar ik overigens veel meer van verwachtte is er alleen nog maar meer lag en zoals johnyboegie ook zegt: er zitten heel veel fouten in.
Dus voor mij is het hele BF2 gebeuren echt voorbij want het voldoet gewoon niet aan de verwachtingen.
Ik blijf lekker COD2 spelen en als iedereen dat nou eens zou doen zou de wereld er een stuk leuker uitzien. |

Jonge ik kan niet eens bf2 gwn spelen... wil ik inloggen duurt i een kwartier... wil ik een patch installen zegt i soms patch valed... wil i patchen geeft i ondertussen een error aan... heb ik een patch geinstalled hebben ze mijn cdkey verneukt.... dan kan dat maybe wel aan mijn nieuwe pc liggen die toch echt wel aan die bf2 eisen voldoet... die bf2 heeft aan mijn drivers zitten kl*ten zonder enige vraag "Zal bf2 je drivers verkl*ten" onder het installen. En dan al die patches downen ... wordt er gwn helemaal ziek van problemen dit problemen dat....
BTW ALS IEMAND NOG EEN LEGALE BF2 WIL HEBBEN ZEG JE HET MAAR EVEN, BIJ MIJ LIGT I VOOR SALE.
60 euro pfff wat krijg je er voor terug.....
Ik ga wel lkkr cod2 spelen nooit zoveel gezeik... ben t helemaal eens met Wacko ! |

Mee eens, ieder zijn eigen mening. Blijft ook een gevoelskwestie. Grafisch is het idd geen top-game. Ook is het jammer dat je niet alles kapot kan schieten. Wat ik wel weer kan begrijpen, omdat dat heel veel extra netwerkverkeer en lokale/centrale processing oplevert. Wel is het weer uniek in zijn multiplayer opzet: aantal spelers i.c.m. squads en commanders.
Testen blijft een structureel probleem (uitdaging), zeker bij een COMPLEX spel als BF. Je hebt te maken met bijna oneindig aantal spelsituaties. Wil je die met een 'kleine' beheersbare testgroep ondervangen, dan moet je dus oneindig lang testen. Op een gegeven moment concludeert men echter dat het acceptabel en speelbaar is (de dan bekende grootste bugs/issues zijn er uit, en/of de minder belangrijkere bugs/issues kan men inplannen in een vervolg patch). Het product moet toch een keer op de markt komen. Tijdens het live-spelen komen er opeens duizenden spelers (of lees testers) bij. Hierdoor is de kans op het ontdekken van een nog onbekende bug/spelissue natuurlijk vele male groter. Dit is met alle producten zo: of het nu software, koffieautomaten, auto's of vliegtuigen zijn.
Met testen van patches concentreert men zich natuurlijk op bekende problemen. Welke nieuwe problemen dit veroorzaakt blijft altijd moeilijk te constateren of in te schatten. Dit kan natuurlijk behoorlijk irritant zijn. Maar geef toe: DICE pakt deze zaken wel op, en probeert ze op te lossen. |

Helemaal mee eens Karel. De graphics zijn niet zoals bijv FEAR maar dat hoeft ook helemaal niet. Het gaat om de gameplay en men moet wel een breed publiek kunnen bereiken. Als je bijv FEAR wilt draaien dan heb je nogal wat specs nodig.
Zoals gezegd gaat het om de gameplay en ja de omgeving mocht wel interactiever zijn. Maar ja je kunt niet alles hebben |

jullie weten niet hoeveel tijd erin gaat zitten patches maken / testen en weer verbeteren, jullie denken dat alles in 1 uur tijd is opgelost.. verdiep je eerst daarin voordat je gaat lopen zeuren, ik heb dezelfde patch als jullie, en ik kan normaal inloggen, bf sluit nooit af, ik heb GEEN lag.. dus ik denk dat het gewoon aan jullie zelf ligd, ga eerst ff lekker al die spyware en zooi van je pc afgooien en speel dan bf2..

Ik geef je gelijk, BLACK is idd grafisch veel mooier (als je het resolutieverschil tussen TV en PC even buiten beschouwing laat). Dat je alles kapot kan schieten is ook zijn sterkste punt. Maar hier ligt tevens zijn zwakte. Het levert dermate veel informatieverwerking op dat dit (nu nog) niet via een multimode te spelen is. Alles wat jij kapot schiet zal ook moeten worden doorgegeven aan je medespelers, naast info over spelers- en voertuigcoordinaten, spelersrollen, kijkrichtingen, kogelpaden, looprichtingen, etc. Dit legt dus veel belasting (processortijd, memory en lijverbinding) op de centrale gameserver en de PC van je medespelers.
Maar je weet maar nooit...binnenkort... |

en ik ga nu bf2 modern combad spelen op de ps2 en dat is wel een pracht spel HEHEHEHE |
