Battlefield 2 v1.50 in 2-3 Weeks

DICE Producer, Barrie Tingle (@Bazajaytee) posted on the EA UK forums that

the Battlefield 2 v1.50 patch will be released within roughly 2-3 weeks.

Waiting for the programmers to get back from vacation. I thought one would be due back at the start of this week but he wasn't. For those of you that don't know, Sweden has an odd practise of people taking vacation during the month of July for something called "Industrisemester" (not just DICE but all of Sweden). Think of everyone going on holiday at once and thats what it is

There are some things the tidy up before final like the inability to play Special Forces.
The release is more likely a matter of weeks away (2-3 weeks at a rough guess).

Forgottenhonor opens new BFP2 Campaign: The Forgotten Treasure

Hello there!

We from Forgottenhonor now have a new campaign for Battlefield 2. But this time it's not FH2, but Battlefield Pirates 2! So we will have 8 weeks of fun with this pirates mod.

I hope you can make a nice news post for this and maybe translate it to Dutch.

EA Confirms Battlefield 3

The big Battlefield news going around today is a quote by EA's Chief

operating officer John Pleasants basically confirming the development

of Battlefield 3; something the Battlefield community has been hoping

for all along. The fiscal year ends March 31, 2010.

Criterion Games working on a Need For Speed game wasn't the only surprising bit of news that Electronic Arts chief operating office John Pleasants tucked into his presentation at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference I listened to today. Pleasants confirmed he's seen DICE's work on Battlefield 3.

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," he said. "Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good."

Gamers worried that Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield 1943 were a three-pronged answer to fans demanding a third Battlefield don't have to worry. Battlefield 3 is coming!

Friends
Add your friends so you can always see when they're on-line. From your friends list, you'll be one click away from directly joining them.

Leaderboards
They're back! See how you stack up with thousands of other players and fight your way to the top. There's a whole range of different stats you can look up and compare.

Groups
Create and join your very own Group, complete with avatar and group banner!
Each group also has its very own, unique leaderboard, so you can compete with just your friends.

Player and Hero search
Find (or stalk) your frenemies with our new search features. Find out what Missions someone is currently on, what Abilities they're using and loads more.

Permanent items
ALL appearance items and emotes that can be bought with Battlefunds are now available permanently! Don't want to "rent" an item? You don't have to anymore.

Code redemption
Be on the lookout for special, promotional codes which you can redeem on the Heroes site for Battlefunds or very cool, exclusive items.
You did see the Rocketman promotion news, right?

Improved Store
Now easier to use: the BFH Store will show every item once, and by hovering over or clicking on it you'll be able to see all the different price options, as well as durations that are available for that item.

Punk, Busted!
Yes, PunkBuster is here! Cheaters and hackers beware!

Reporting players
Find a misbehaving player by Hero(in-game) name or by their player(web display) name and report them!

New site look

With all these new, cool features we ran out of space at the top. While we were fixing that, we decided to make the entire navigation much cooler.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be rolling out more visual changes to the site, so it will be a much nicer place to visit.

Hello Heroes!

We are still looking into resolving some of the issues with the latest Beta Update, so keep an eye on the site and our Twitter page for updates.

In the mean time, we want to let you know that we haven't forgotten our Beta players' items.
After the Beta returns and things are back to normal, we will be extending all affected, time limited, Battlefund items to reflect the time lost during the last couple of days.

More news and details about these extensions will be on the Beta site when it's back.

PC Gamer and PC Zone in the UK, just started a 5 month Battlefield Heroes campaign.
Additionally, PC Games and PC Action in Germany will be starting their campaign one month later, in July.

Over a period of 5 months they will be giving away tons of Battlefield Heroes goodies.
In the first month, each magazine will be including codes for free Battlefunds1.

The following months each edition will have codes for EXCLUSIVE2, PERMANENT in-game outfits.

While away at E3 we have been a bit behind on the news.

It’s time for a proper update to the Battlefield portal, which has not been given a lot of DICE love lately. Instead we have all hunkered down, deeper and deeper behind our monitors, putting another shoulder into making games instead of worrying about something as simple… as a web page. But no longer, it’s time to fix this.

Today we re-launch the Battlefield portal, a first step towards a new franchise presence at battlefield.com. My name is Karl Magnus Troedsson and I’m the Executive Producer for the Franchise and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to this new and improved part of the Battlefield experience. It doesn’t matter if you’re a diehard fan that’s been with us since 1942, a new recruit or simply browsing for info on our games… this page is made by us - for you. Read the Rest...

Couple notes from my E3 experience.

EA press conference didn't feature anything Battlefield, but EA CEO ohn

Riccitiello spoke along with Peter Moore of EA Sports and many others.

Tennis player Pete Sampras appeared on stage to play some Wii Grand Slam Tennis.

After the EA event, we went down the street to the Ubisoft event,

which was pretty unorganized compared to EA. It ended up starting

an hour late. Joel McHale (E! Entertainment The Soup host) hosted the

show. Director James Cameron spoke about his movie Avatar and how

the game will differ greatly. Brazilian football player, Pelé talked

about a Wii game he created with Ubisoft called Academy of Champions.

We recorded a lot of BF1943 footage from the booth. Look for it within

the next week. I will be putting more pictures up today from the Battlefield

1943 booth and from all over E3.

Bad Company 2 was shown only in a closed door session,

so sorry no footage of that.

Other notable appearances....Alex Albrecht (Co-host of Diggnation)

and Totally Rad Show crew. Stan Lee (Marvel Comics)

at Activision booth. Gabe Newell (Valve) at the EA booth

watching people play Brütal Legend.

I met famed FilePlanet extraordinaire, Justin Ramos aka Ferret in

the IGN war room, which is filled with a crazy amount of equipment.

If you haven't checked out the File Blog you should see all the

swag he has collected including a Rabbids Go Home pink thong.

If you don't know what this game is about look it up. Very crazy.

BF 2142 : Zombie Community Mod

Hello 2142 Fans!
I have released the all new, finished, Zombie Community Mod! This is 100% completed and ready to be played. I am also releasing the server files here shortly after the smooth release of the client. So first we are releasing the client, THEN the server files. Strange eh? I wanted to try something different. Screenshots are up so enjoy them! I have a dedicated server up so everybody can enjoy the mod!

Players will find the standard co-op bug still present that will cause the server to crash at random times. HOWEVER, most players can avoid this by simply creating/playing single player or lan games, but not as fun. The client download should be available here in a few days. Enjoy this new mod 2142 fans! As this is my going away present. I am laying down my walker and stepping out of the battlefield to create a new game for a special engine. Hopefully you guys will also enjoy this new game as well.
